Every day, American Animal Rescue Society rescues abandoned dogs and cats, from overcrowded animal control facilities where they would be euthanized simply due to lack of space. We then provide each and every animal with medical care and treat any disease or condition they may have. The animals are vaccinated, heartworm tested, dewormed, microchipped and spayed or neutered. Cats are tested for FIV/Leukemia as well. Once that is complete we place them into loving foster homes until they get adopted. There is no payroll at AARS, and no facility. Just a network of fosters and volunteers who donate their time and love. Fosters provide food, supplies, and safe homes to the animals. The AARS fund pays for their vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, and desperately needed medical care. Our Mission: To rescue and place unwanted, abandoned, and stray animals into loving, responsible homes. To rehabilitate abused or injured animals. To encourage spaying and neutering to help with the overpopulation issue. To promote the humane treatment of ALL animals.
Some ways you can help:
1. Foster! Loving foster homes are our most precious resource. If you have a place in your heart, AARS can work with you to find an animal that will fit into your home. Drop us a line anytime for more information. Remember we can only rescue as many cats and dogs as we have foster homes lined up since we don't have a shelter facility yet.
2. Adopt! Check out our adoptable animals. If you already have a dog, consider adding a new member to your family! If you have a couple of cats, perhaps adopt a rabbit! We often take in new animals much faster than our volunteers can update the site, so even if you don't see your perfect match, fill out an adoption form or send us a message to let us know what you're looking for.
3. Donate! Often AARS rescues animals from very sad and dangerous situations, and the cost of veterinary care nearly always exceeds the donations we receive. Any amount helps, at any time, even as little as $5. Got a couple of bucks or more then donate right here online! Or sponsor a specific animal in need today. There are many ways you can donate DIRECTLY to the animals of AARS. Your donation is tax deductible, and you can save a life.
4. Volunteer! We're looking for energetic people who can help us transport animals, organize events, help at fundraisers and adoption events, raise funds, and spread the word to friends and family. Fill out our Volunteer Application today!
5. Stay in touch! Check us out on Facebook. Follow us on Twitter. Check out our videos on our YouTube Channel, and sign up for our newsletter! You may see new ways you can help, or a furry face you can't live without. THANK YOU for your support!
